I got Dental Clearance today! Hooray!!! I was staring to get worried that they never even received my packet because it has been like 2 weeks since I sent it, and I never got confirmation that it arrived....but all of the sudden my toolkit was updated today to say I am cleared :-)
I still have not mailed my medical packet yet. I finally found a clinic to get my Polio and Varicella shots for pretty cheap...will come to a total of $55 for the 3 shots (compared to the $180 it would have been at the Health Department). I got the Polio and the 1st Varicella on April 15th, but unfortunately have to wait 8 weeks to get the 2nd Varicella dose :-( I e-mailed my Peace Corps nurse today to see if I can send in my medical packet now, and just send in that last immunization record later....I don't want to wait 2 more months to send in the packet just because of one shot.
I just finished a great Spring Break (from Elementary School). I had an awesome week with my sister, nephew, and my grandma, aunt, uncle, and 2 cousins from New York :-) Made a few trips to the beach, the pool, and other fun places.
Hey, Im not sure that you have to get your shots done for the clearance. I think you just have to show them that you have either received them in the past or not and show proof of it. I believe peace corps will give you all the shots you need prior to leaving. At least that was my understanding.
